Overview

This exhibition highlights British art from the late 1980s to the early 2000s. Amid the social tension of the Thatcher era, artists began challenging traditional artistic frameworks. The Young British Artists (YBAs) and their contemporaries addressed popular culture, personal narratives, and social change. Their work spans diverse media, including painting, sculpture, photography, video, and installation. Featuring around 100 works by 60 artists, the exhibition traces the groundbreaking evolution of 1990s British art. **Tate Museum — YBA & BEYOND: British Art of the 90s That Changed the World Dates: Jun. 3 (Wed) – Sep. 6 (Sun), 2026 Hours: 10:00–18:00 (Last admission at 17:30) Closed: Mondays ※Open on Mondays if they fall on a national holiday Venue: Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art, New Wing, Higashiyama Cube 124 Okazaki Enshōji-chō, Sakyo-ku, Kyoto 606-8344, Japan** Official Website: https://www.ybabeyond.jp/
