Description
Experience the beauty and history of traditional Japanese paper that is over a thousand years old! A workshop where you can experience Japanese paper making. Starting with an explanation of washi making, you can experience how traditional washi is made from wood. In the workshop, we will make postcards with two different designs, Falling Water Paper, and A5 size paper. While the washi is drying, we will offer Japanese sweets along with a unique "washi tea". The mascot cat “Kami” will always welcome you at the shop! ~Procedure of the experience~ ① Briefly explain the flow of the workshop (5 minutes) We will briefly explain the raw materials for washi paper. ②Experience the process of making washi paper, including peeling'' the outer layer of the mulberry tree and
beating'' the wood fibers. (20 minutes) We will briefly introduce the process of making washi paper with a demonstration. ③Handmade washi paper making (60 to 80 minutes) A total of 4 sheets of postcard size (fortune, gauze, falling water) and A5 size washi ④Press and dry by machine. In the meantime, washi tea time (20 minutes).Wait for it to dry while eating washi tea and Japanese sweets.⑤Complete the surveyAfter completing the survey, we will give you a dried washi postcard and the workshop will end.
