Important Information

  • Group tickets are released by the Sumo Association 4–7 weeks before the tour date. If we are unable to obtain tickets, you will be notified at least 4 weeks before the tour, with an option to reschedule or receive a full refund.
  • Admission tickets are required for all spectators aged 4 and above.
  • Children aged 0–3 may enter for free without occupying seats.
  • Audio headsets are provided so you can clearly hear your expert guide’s explanations of sumo history, culture, and famous wrestlers, past and present.
  • Please arrive at the designated location at least 10 minutes before the meet-up time. If you’re running late, contact your tour guide via the provided phone number to arrange a meet-up at the next location.
  • If you select the dinner option at checkout, please select meals for all participants. The default meal is chanko hot pot, but you can choose vegetarian or sukiyaki alternatives if needed. Note that traditional chanko nabe broth typically contains pork or chicken, but we can request a vegetarian substitute. Once your dinner request is accepted, changes cannot be made within one week of the tour date.

Description

Join us this September 2024 for a viewing tour of the Tokyo Sumo Tournament. This 4-hour experience offers a deep dive into Japan’s ancient sumo traditions, accompanied by an expert local guide who will share fascinating insights into the rituals and history of this iconic sport.

Once inside, you’ll be seated in B-class or C-class reserved seats, providing an excellent view of the intense sumo action. These seats offer the perfect vantage point to immerse yourself in the excitement of the tournament, surrounded by passionate local fans.

For those who select the dinner option, the experience continues at a local chanko hot pot restaurant, where you’ll enjoy the same hearty meal that fuels sumo wrestlers. With explanations from your guide, you’ll gain insight into the dietary habits of these athletes. Sukiyaki or a vegetarian option is available upon request, but be sure to notify us at least one week in advance.
