The opening of winter fishing for smelt in Lake Nakatsuna depends on the weather and smelt resources. The ban was not lifted in 2023. The ban was lifted in 2022, but not in 2021. This area is a cold region with a lot of snow. When there is a lot of snow, the snow acts as a protection against the cold and prevents ice from forming. There is snow and ice, but it cannot support the weight of a human being. The hours for hole fishing at Lake Nakatsuna are from 7:00 to 16:00 (2024 is undecided). We will accept ice fishing by request reservation from February 5, 2024 to February 12, 2024, but please note that ice fishing may not be possible.
