Description

Exclusively for use by foreign tourists, the Kansai-Hokuriku Area Pass is a transportation pass that allows seven consecutive days of unlimited travel on designated train and bus lines (including shinkansen and limited express trains) in the Kansai and Hokuriku regions, as well as Okayama. This pass roughly encompasses both the coverage areas of the Kansai Wide Area Pass and the Hokuriku Area Pass in one pass. The Kansai-Hokuriku Area Pass is valid for unlimited travel on these trains and buses: • Non-reserved seats on Sanyo Shinkansen bullet train (Shin-Osaka–Okayama)* (The pass can be used for the Hello Kitty Shinkansen) • Non-reserved seats on Hokuriku Shinkansen bullet train (Kanazawa–Joetsu-Myoko)* • Non-reserved seats on Express Trains (Haruka, Thunderbird, Kuroshio, Kounotori, Super Hakuto (Kyoto–Kamigori), etc.)* • Special Rapid Services, Rapid Services, and Local trains on JR-WEST Conventional lines • JR West buses within the valid area. (WEST JAPAN JR buses route-For more information, please click the link: https://www.nishinihonjrbus.co.jp/route/) *Seats may be reserved for free for up to 6 times; for the 7th time onward, separate tickets will be required The pass cannot be used for these trains: • Hokuriku Shinkansen bullet train (Joetsu-Myoko–Tokyo) • Tokaido Shinkansen bullet train (Shin-Osaka–Tokyo) • Sanyo Shinkansen bullet train (Okayama–Hakata) • The Special Rapid "A Seat" paid seating Service • IR Ishikawa Railway or the Ainokaze Toyama Railway • Super Hakuto (Kamigori–Tottori) and Super Inaba (Kamigori–Tottori) (A separate fare is required) As a special exception, the pass can be used for the Himi, Johana, or Nanao lines only if the pass-holder does not alight from the IR Ishikawa Railway (Kanazawa–Tsubata) or the Ainokaze Toyama Railway (Takaoka–Toyama). Limited express trains can be used on the IR Ishikawa Railway (Kanazawa–Tsubata). If using the Ainokaze Liner rapid service on the Ainokaze Toyama Railway, a separate "liner fare" is required. How it works

How to Receive Your JR Pass 1. Choose the date you want to redeem the JR Pass and book. A lead guest may book on behalf of a group, but note that all guests must be foreign nationals with non-Japanese passports, with a valid 'Temporary Visitor' entry status stamp 2. Receive your QR code e-voucher with your confirmation email 3. Present your QR code e-voucher, printed or displayed on your smartphone, at any valid exchange office to redeem your physical pass. All guests must also present their passport for verification during redemption. Your JR pass can be used for 7 consecutive days and must be redeemed within 90 days after the e-voucher is issued 2.
