Showa Shinzan Bear Farm houses approximately 100 purebred brown bears. The vast grounds are divided by age group, with feeding counters at the entrance to each section. Here, you can purchase apples, biscuits, and other treats to experience feeding the bears. The bears, accustomed to humans, know they will receive food and sometimes display adorable gestures. Some bears stand up on their hind legs to wave or bow, while others lie down on the ground to attract attention. For those wishing to observe the bears up close, a “human enclosure” (special observation room) is installed within the bears' habitat.
