Description

Shuri Ryuzen is the only place in Okinawa where you can experience coral dyeing. Shuri Ryusem is a Gassho-style workshop with a triangular roof. The rooftop space is fully utilized, and huge looms and other workbenches are arranged inside the house, and artworks from the Ryukyu Dynasty are exhibited. You can feel the history and culture of the ancient capital of Shuri in the museum. Coral has been a source of happiness in Okinawa since ancient times, and Shuri Ryusem creates unique works using fossilized coral. Using the precious coral that Shuri Ryusem owns, you can choose an item of your choice from T-shirts, tote bags, etc. and dye them in the color of your choice. The dyeing tool is a dyeing tool that is wrapped in cotton cloth and tied into a round shape so that it can be easily held in the hand.

Using coral fossils as patterns, the colors are adjusted using red, yellow, purple, and blue dyes and dyed with dyeing tools on the cloth lined with coral patterns to create rich patterns and textures. The dyeing experience is easy and widely enjoyable for men, women, young, and old and takes about 30 to 50 minutes.
