Description
This ticket allows you to visit the permanent exhibition at Matsumoto City Museum, which showcases various aspects of Matsumoto's history, culture, and nature through eight main themes. Matsumoto City Museum opened on September 21, 1906 (Meiji 39) as the "Meiji 37-38 Battle Commemoration Museum." Initially located within the Matsumoto Elementary School for Boys, it has a history of over 100 years. In 1952 (Showa 27), it became the first museum in Nagano Prefecture to be registered under the Museum Act. After several changes in name and location, in October 2023 (Reiwa 5), it reopened at its current location as a core facility of the "Comprehensive Matsumoto Museum." The museum's collection includes over 110,000 valuable items, including national important tangible folk cultural properties such as the "Peacock-shaped Bronze Chime," "Tanabata Dolls," and "Folk Beliefs Materials," as well as agricultural tools.
