Description

■We will take you to the spectacular view point of Aizu's "Tsuruga Castle", which is difficult to reach by public transportation, and the popular local train "Tadami Line" that runs through the great outdoors, by chartered bus or chartered jumbo taxi. ■Aizu Tsuruga CastleTsuruga Castle began as Higashikurokawa-kan about 630 years ago, and became famous for its fierce battles during the Boshin War. After being demolished in 1874, it was rebuilt in 1965, and in 2000, the "Hoshimeshi Yagura and Minamihashiri Nagaya" were restored using Edo period techniques. In 2011, it was re-tiled with red tiles, restoring its appearance to the end of the Edo period. The castle tower is a museum that displays the history of Aizu, and Tsuruga Castle Park is a nationally designated historic site with an area of about 21,000 square meters. *An additional admission fee of 410 yen will be charged.■Tsuruga Castle HallIt was also selected as one of the "100 Best Souvenir Facilities in Japan Selected by Professionals" sponsored by Travel Newspaper Shinsha. If you go through the hall, you can take a shortcut to Tsuruga Castle. Here you can experience Aizu folk crafts, feast on local cuisine, and find a wide variety of souvenirs. Experience the true charm of Aizu in this place where you can enjoy sightseeing, dining, experiences, and shopping all in one place. ■First Tadami River Bridge Viewpoint The JR Tadami Line, which runs along the Tadami River, is a local line famous for its beautiful autumn leaves. The First Tadami River Bridge in particular is a representative view of this line. The seasonal scenery created by the majestic valley and surrounding mountains attracts many people. In recent years, many overseas travelers, including those from Taiwan and Thailand, have also visited the area. ■Roadside Station Oze Kaido Mishima-juku This roadside station, located along National Route 252, is the entrance to the view point of the First Tadami River Bridge. On the first floor, there is a corner selling local specialties and fresh locally grown vegetables, and the restaurant "Kirihanatei," where you can enjoy soba noodles and rice bowls. On the second floor, there is a space to display paulownia products, a specialty of Mishima Town.
