Description
Tennen Rishin-ryu swordsmanship, which began in the Edo period, is still passed down today, and at the Tennen Rishin-ryu Hino Dojo, students of the school hone their swordsmanship skills. You too can learn Tennen Rishin-ryu at an actual dojo. Swordsmen who trained in Tennen Rishin-ryu in Hino formed the Shinsengumi, known as the strongest group of swordsmen at the end of the Edo period, and were called the Last Samurai. By experiencing swordsmanship in Hino, the hometown of the Shinsengumi, you can feel the history and culture of the Last Samurai. The experience program is led by Masao Inoue, a descendant of Shinsengumi leader Genzaburo Inoue and chairman of the Tennen Rishin-ryu Hino Dojo. Not only can you learn the basics of Tennen Rishin-ryu swordsmanship with a wooden sword, but you can also actually use a Japanese sword, which is said to be the soul of the samurai. The experience of touching the soul of the samurai will surely transform you.
