In spring, cherry blossoms bloom in various parts of the prefecture, turning the area around Lake Biwa into a light-colored haze. Okishima, an inhabited island in a freshwater lake, is one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in the prefecture. Spring in the lake country, where you can feel the breath of life, will be vividly expressed. **Summer — Odashiki Summer Sky** In summer, the mountain greenery of Mount Hiei, the Koto Sanzan mountains, and the Suzuka mountain range surround you, enveloping your body and soul in a relaxing atmosphere. The sparkling surface of the lake, reflecting the sun, gives off a lively and energetic atmosphere that naturally invigorates the body and mind. The contrast between the stillness and movement of summer in the lake country will be beautifully and energetically expressed with fireworks. **Autumn — Lush Autumn Leaves** Shiga Prefecture is home to a rich and diverse array of historical and cultural assets, and is the fourth prefecture in Japan in terms of the number of important cultural assets. In autumn, these historical and cultural assets are covered in crimson leaves. Take a walk through the rich gradation created by nature in the autumn of the lake country. **Winter — Sumikiriki Yukimari** Shiga Prefecture is known for its abundant snowfall, and Mount Ibuki in Maibara City has the world's largest snowfall ever recorded. The fields and mountains are a sparkling white world of silver, snow falls silently, plum blossoms herald spring, and wild birds soar in the air. These winter scenes of Shiga Prefecture are expressed through fireworks. **Special Program — Mono no Ahare** The historical drama “Dear Radiance” is a story about the life of Murasaki Shikibu, the author of “The Tale of Genji.” What Murasaki Shikibu thought and how she lived her life are depicted in this magnificent and delicate story. In one theory, Murasaki Shikibu sailed to Echizen with her father from Uchidehama Beach. The fireworks display “Mono no Ahare” expresses the deep and profound emotions expressed in “The Tale of Genji.” **Grand Finale — Gold And Silver Waterfall Shining in the Night Sky** Taking advantage of its location on Japan's largest lake, the underwater starmine is synonymous with the Lake Biwa Grand Fireworks Festival. The gorgeous, colorful flowers blooming on the surface and in the night sky at the same time are truly a sight to behold. The grand finale will be a fitting end, with an overwhelming volume of fireworks Note: program is subject to change.
