Key Information

Description

Have you ever wanted to try a real Japanese sword? Your wish can come true here! The serious trial cutting experience includes several key activities. First, participants are required to change into an Iaido uniform, with assistance provided by trained samurai. Following this, a standing bow is performed as a sign of respect. To prepare the body for the upcoming tasks, a warming-up session is conducted. Participants then engage in swing practice using a wooden sword, focusing on holding the handle correctly and checking the position of the swing and their feet. The trial continues with the serious task of slashing with a Japanese sword. Notably, participants are expected to cut the makiwara of the half tatami mat using two swords. Once this task is completed, another standing bow is performed. As a memento, applicants have the opportunity to take a commemorative photo. Finally, participants change back into their plain clothes, marking the end of the trial.
