Description

Get ready to be awestruck by the natural beauty of the Hozu River Valley, a sight to behold in every season. Witness the delicate cherry blossoms in spring, the lush azalea shrubs sprouting between rocks in summer, the dazzling crimson foliage and mountain scenery in autumn, and the serene snow-covered valley in winter. For your comfort and warmth, our boats are equipped with heated tatami during the colder months. The Hozu River is a marvel of nature, originating from central Kyoto Prefecture's Tamba Highlands, and flowing through the picturesque mountains of Kyoto to Kameoka. From there, it navigates a breathtaking 16 km mountain canyon before converging into the Yodo River via the Kamo River. Accompanied by skilled local boatmen, you'll glide through the rugged landscape, marveling at the huge rock formations and stunning views. Depending on the weather and water levels, our boats are expertly maneuvered by three to five boatmen, ensuring your safety and comfort at all times.
