Overview
Kujukushima Zoo & Botanical Garden Mori Kirara is home to many animals, including giraffes, red pandas, and meerkats. There are also rare animals such as the Tsushima horse, one of the few remaining in Japan, and the Tsushima wildcats. At the penguin pavilion, you can see penguins swimming vigorously across the ceiling!

Description
Located on a hill overlooking Kujuku Islands, [Mori Kirara] is a zoo and botanical garden with the theme of healing and nature of Kujuku Islands. Visitors can see animals living lively in the park surrounded by seasonal flowers and trees, as well as their adorable expressions.
The zoo exhibits 173 animals of about 45 species, including a penguin pavilion with one of the largest ceiling tank in Japan, lions, and Tsushima wildcats. In addition to petting and feeding the small animals, the park also offers a variety of hands-on programs, such as a horseback riding experience with the rare and scarce Tsushima horses and backyard tours. The park also has an ornamental greenhouse and approximately 1,400 species of plants, with spring and fall being the best times to see the beautiful roses blooming in the rose garden, the largest of its kind in western Japan.
