Opened in October 2020, the Yoku Moku Museum is located in Tokyo's upscale Minami Aoyama district, and is dedicated to showcasing Pablo Picasso's ceramic works. You'll be able to view a collection of over 500 Picasso ceramic pieces that have been carefully collected by Yoku Moku (a long-established confectionery brand in Japan) over the past 30 years. Picasso's works of art incorporate his unique pictorial and sculptural creativity, and signature playfulness in painting and molding. While he was better known for his paintings, pottery was an exercise in experimentation for Picasso, who was eager to explore new possibilities of form and color through the medium of clay. Experience his ethos through the museum's extensive collection, and rediscover everyday objects through Picasso's lens. You'll get to learn about the history and background of Picasso's ceramics, the changes in the artist's daily life as he embarked on his journey in clay, and how his pottery impacted his time. Discover a new side of Picasso, rediscover the artistic possibilities of clay, and immerse yourself in Picasso's unique creativity! In addition to the exhibits, the Yoku Moku Museum also runs unique educational programs and events such as hands-on workshops incorporating art therapy, as well as its "Art and Confectionery" events, unique to the museum. The in-house gift shop offers a selection of original merchandise featuring Picasso's ceramic works and the museum's logo. In addition, there is also a cafe offering bite-sized pastries and drinks.
