Description

Experience a full-fledged tea ceremony in a Kyomachiya, which has been designated as a "Historical Scenic Building" by Kyoto City. A quiet tea room that makes you forget you are in the middle of the city. The staff will help you put on the kimono and do a simple hair set for women. (You can also rent hair ornaments.) After guiding you to the tea room, you will experience a full-fledged tea ceremony. Please enjoy it with Japanese sweets. The instructor will gently guide you from the essential teachings and behavior of the tea ceremony, so even those who are new to the tea ceremony can enjoy it with peace of mind. After experiencing the tea ceremony, let's go sightseeing in Kyoto wearing a kimono! Fans and Japanese umbrellas are also available, so you can take a commemorative photo. There are many spots where you can take pictures. Taking a photo in the Japanese garden outside the tea room will definitely be a wonderful memory of your trip! *Kimono can be rented until 18:00. If you would like to have a tea ceremony, please let us know in advance. In general, tea ceremonies are held in small tea rooms, but at MAIKOYA, we hold them in a spacious Japanese-style room with enough space between guests. In a well-ventilated room with large windows, you can enjoy the experience with peace of mind under the measures against the new coronavirus infection.
