Conditions of Use To purchase the pass, you must be one of the following: 1. A non-Japanese tourist visiting Japan with a short-term stay status (you need to present your passport to purchase and receive the pass) 2. A Japanese national living outside of Japan (you need to be an overseas resident with a permanent resident status, or be a holder of a permanent residence card, and need to present a personal ID document) 3. Accompanying a person satisfying (1) or (2) above as a guide (you need to purchase the pass together with the person satisfying (1) or (2) above) Note: those staying in Japan short-term for language lessons or work, and those with a long-term visa (for working holiday, work, marriage, etc.) cannot purchase or use this pass
- Each pass is for one person only
- You can ride certain subways and private railways in Kansai region within the validity period of the pass
- You cannot use this pass on JR trains, or buses
- You will need to buy a separate express ticket, special coach ticket, and/or reserved seat ticket to ride a reserved seat express train of the Nankai Electric Railway, Kinki Nippon Railway, or Semboku Rapid
- Passes cannot be refunded even in the case of suspended services once they have been used
- The pass can be reissued at major stations if the magnetic strip fails to function during the validity
- Tickets will not be reissued if lost
- If any ticket is used illegally, it will be invalidated and collected, and an additional fare will be charged, according to the regulations of each transportation company
- A separate fare will be required for journeys outside the valid zone; please inquire with station staff

Description
The Kansai Railway Pass is a special ticket offered only to travelers visiting Japan for sightseeing. It allows unlimited ride on all metro and private railways in Kansai, in Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe/Himeji (Hyogo), Nara, Wakayama, and Shiga Prefectures!
JR lines, Randen (Keifuku Railway) lines, and some other trains are not available. Buses are not available.

Cautions
- The Kansai Railway Pass is a special ticket offered only to those traveling to Japan for sightseeing
- As long as the pass has not expired, it can be used on non-consecutive days (for instance, you can use the 3-day pass for three days on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday)
- In Japan, each person can purchase up to three passes
- Purchasing a combination of different tickets is ok; purchase is limited to 3 tickets of all types together

- At select facilities, you can enjoy special offers by presenting the pass
- The service detail is subject to change without notice
- The special offers from facilities are valid only on the day the pass is used
- Special offers are valid for only one person per pass

How to Use the Pass
- Insert the pass in the ticket gate with the arrow on the front pointing forward.
- The day of travel and the name of the station where you begin your travel will be printed on the back of the pass. One day is counted as the duration from the first train to the last train in a day (not for 24 hours from the first use).
- Insert the ticket in the ticket gate when exiting. Be sure to take your pass with you once you have passed.
- Some ticket gates are not automated. In such a case, please note the date of use on the back of the pass with a permanent ink pen and show it to an attendant.
- If the pass becomes unusable due to magnetic strip failure during the journey, the following stations will reissue a new pass: click here.
