Description
This ticket package includes three great attractions that show off Amanohashidate from all its best sides.
Amanohashidate View Land is the small theme park at the southern end of the sandbar. Its best features are undoubtedly the observation platforms, from which you can enjoy the traditional upside-down viewing that makes the sandbar look like it rises up into the sky. With this view, you’ll easily see why it’s called Amanohashidate, roughly translated as “Bridge to Heaven.”
The Hiryukan-kairo is a 250-meter long, 8.5-meter tall spiral wooden path giving an easy-access viewpoint for Amanohashidate. Throughout the park, seven Matanozoki Platforms are the traditional spots from which to bend over and see the sandbar upside down. For the highest vantage point, take a seven-minute monorail or a six-minute chairlift to the top of Mt. Monju.
Amanohashidate View Land has several family-friendly activities too, including a go-kart circuit, merry-go-round, cycle-car monorail, steam locomotive, and a Ferris wheel.
Across Miyazu Bay, Kasamatsu Park offers the famous view from the north. Entry to the park is free, while your tickets include the cable car or chairlift up to the viewing platform.
As you wander the park, you can meet and grab a selfie with its mascot, the cute pinecone character Kasabo! Other things to do in the park include a lucky ring-toss, a bell that’s said to grant wishes when you ring it, and affixing padlocks to the viewing platform, engraved with a Buddhist prayer.
Your 2-day pass also includes a round-trip journey on the Amanohashidate Sightseeing Boat. This 12-minute cruise alongside the sandbar gives an up-close look at its entire pine-clad length, while transporting you between the two parks.
