Description
Hakone is well-known for its views, but at ground level, you’ll only get half the picture. Reach new heights without having to hike yourself there by riding the Hakone Komagatake Ropeway. On this seven-minute journey, you’ll be whisked nearly 1800 meters up to the top of Mt. Komagatake. From there, you’ll not only get panoramic views of Lake Ashi and the hills and mountains of Hakone, but also of Mt. Fuji and the Pacific Ocean on clear days. At the very peak, you’ll also be able to visit the original Hakone Shrine, now known as Hakone-Mototsumiya Shrine. While the main buildings have since been moved down to the shores of Lake Ashi, Hakone-Mototsumiya stands as a reminder of the spiritual heritage of the area and its surrounding mountains. This ticket covers a return journey on the Hakone Komagatake Ropeway, and can be used any time up to three months after the booking date for maximum flexibility.
