The Knights of St. John (also known as the Order of St. John), which ruled over Malta for 268 years, left a unique cultural legacy on the island — and you'll see traces of this heritage at Valletta. First, enjoy breathtaking views of the Grand Harbour from the Upper Baracca Gardens. Then, you'll pass by the majestic St. John’s Co-Cathedral, one of the finest examples of Baroque architecture. You can just admire it from the outside, or book Option 1 to get a ticket to the cathedral. Inside, you'll see some of Caravaggio's masterpieces in the Oratory, as well as one of the most beautiful marble inlaid floors in the world. Visit the church's museum to see even more magnificent artworks, such as Peter Paul Rubens' Flemish Tapestries.
