Key Information
Description
How it works
On the reservation day, we will meet prior to the lesson at the Central Gate of Musashi-Koganei Station on JR Chuo Line, Tokyo. From there, we will lead you on foot to the classroom (7-10 min). The calligraphy lesson will last 1.5 hours, during which the instructor will provide you with calligraphy tools and teach you the basics of how to use them. After that, you will choose what you want to write, and the instructor will guide you in English as well as provide corrections until you are satisfied with your work. You may keep your work for display at your home or as a gift, etc. (frames are available for a separate 1000 yen price).
If you wish, you may take pictures wearing yukata, kimono (Taisho Roman hakama), jinbaori, or samurai armor (including an imitation sword). After calligraphy, you can enjoy matcha and sweets, so please feel free to contact us if you are interested in any of these additional options.
*Please note that time taken to pick up visitors from Musashi-Koganei station may be included within the overall 1.5 hours of the lesson. Please let us know if you require guidance back to the station after the lesson is over.
