Description
This trekking tour of Mt. Sanpoiwa (also spelled "Sampoiwa," "Sanboiwa," "Sanpoiwadake," or "Sampoiwadake"), bordering Ishikawa and Gifu Prefectures, is available from June 10 to July 10, and from October 1–31. The trekking itself lasts for about 5 ½ hours — or about 6 hours, including transit. The tour roughly follows this itinerary: 09:20 — Meet your guide at TOYOTA Shirakawa-go Eco-Institute (Shizen Gakko), then take a taxi or drive to the Sanpoiwa parking lot. If you don't have a car, we recommend pre-booking our taxi add-on for added convenience — toll fees are included, and you can save time by not having to call a taxi on the day 10:00 — Arrive at the Sanpoiwa parking lot; begin trekking 12:30 — Lunch (please bring your own) 13:00 — Trek back to the Sanpoiwa parking lot 14:45 — Reach the Sanpoiwa parking lot. Drive back or arrange for a taxi yourself, or take a pre-booked private taxi to TOYOTA Shirakawa-go Eco-Institute (Shizen Gakko) or Shirakawa-go Bus Terminal 15:30 — Return to TOYOTA Shirakawa-go Eco-Institute (Shizen Gakko) by taxi 15:45 — Arrive at Shirakawa-go Bus Terminal
