Head to Mt. Daisen in Tottori for the perfect summertime adventure — shower climbing! What better way to beat the heat than scrambling up clear mountain streams and leaping into waterfall basins, surrounded by ancient, mystical woodlands?
- Please arrive at Mori no Kuni Visitor Center half an hour before your tour time for reception - Note that tour durations are approximate and depend on the number of guests, among other factors - Participants must be aged 4 or older for Course A, 7 or older for Course B. - This tour requires at least four participants; groups of up to three may book by paying the four-person price. - Entry fees for Mori no Kuni must be paid in cash: 700 JPY ages 3–12, 900 JPY ages 13 and above. Ages 0–2 enter for free. - Please wear a mask at all times except during the actual shower climbing. - If we have to cancel the tour due to bad weather, we will inform you around 10:00 the day of the tour to refund or reschedule. Since we may be unable to reach you, please contact us for confirmation before coming if you have any concerns over the weather.
Visit the forested slopes of sacred Mt. Daisen in Tottori, and escape the summer heat with a guided shower climbing tour! You can take a beginner-friendly tour (Course A), with escape routes along the way so you never have to step too far out of your comfort zone. Or choose the Waterfall Basin Challenge (Course B) for more adventure, diving into pools and swimming through the enchanting forest landscape. This activity is available from mid-July to September, every day except Wednesdays. Course A tours run at 09:00 and 13:00, lasting about 2 hours, 30 minutes. Course B tours run at 09:00 and last about 3 hours, 30 minutes. After the tour, you can use the hot showers and changing rooms at Mori no Kuni. The park grounds also have a wide range of other activities to enjoy while you’re there, including the Green Slide for year-round sledding, the Treasure Hunter game, and over 50 kinds of athletic play equipment. There’s also a treetop adventure area, a zip line, plus mountain biking and outdoor cooking activities. Mori no Kuni is open 09:00–17:30 for most of the year, with shorter hours in winter.
