Description

The Haruka, also known as the Kansai Airport Limited Express is a convenient and comfortable limited express train that directly links Kansai International Airport (KIX) with major stations in west Japan's Kansai region: Tennoji, Shin-Osaka, and Kyoto. From Kansai-Airport Station, it takes approximately 35 minutes to Tennoji, 50 minutes to Shin-Osaka, and 1 hour and 20 minutes to Kyoto. Currently, the Haruka runs 60 rides (30 round-trips) a day. Not only is this handy, special one-way pass for foreign visitors to Japan cheaper than booking the Haruka at regular price, but also, it is a bundle that gives the ticket holder access to the Haruka, plus transportation to Kobe via local, rapid, or special rapid train. (Since the Haruka does not stop directly at Kobe, a transfer at Shin-Osaka is required.) This special ticket grants the holder both time and cost savings, so book now for a smooth, hassle-free ride between Kansai International Airport and Kobe!

How it works

1) Before booking, please make sure that the following apply to you: you are a holder of a passport issued by a foreign government, and are entering Japan on a Temporary Visitor visa. Japanese nationals and foreign residents of Japan are not eligible for this ticket 2) Once your booking is confirmed, your QR code e-ticket and exchange order number will be sent to your email address. It is non-refundable and non-cancellable, and is valid for 3 months from the date of issue. You may request to change the validity period only once 3) Exchange your e-ticket for a physical one at any of the following locations: Kyoto Station, Shin-Osaka Station, Travel Service Center Shin-Osaka, Osaka Station, Tennoji Station, or Kansai-Airport Station REDEEMING YOUR TICKET AT A VENDING MACHINE 1) To exchange your QR code e-ticket for a physical one at a green ticket vending machine, your passport must have an IC chip 2) Look for a green ticket vending machine marked with a blue logo designed to look like a passport 3) Select "English" for the display, then "Receive reserved ticket(s)," then "Exchange Order (E-Ticket)" 4) Scan your QR code e-ticket. or enter your exchange order number 5) Enter your preferred date for using your ticket. Once the ticket is issued, this can no longer be changed 6) Confirm/agree with the usage terms and conditions and privacy policy 7) Scan the page of your passport with your photograph on it 8) Receive your ticket REDEEMING YOUR TICKET AT A TICKET OFFICE 1) For those whose passports do not have an IC chip, present your QR code e-ticket and passport at a JR West ticket office (Midori no Madoguchi) at any of the above-mentioned stations to redeem your physical ticket USING YOUR TICKET 1) Your ticket is valid for reserved or non-reserved seating on the Haruka (Kansai Airport Limited Express)'s ordinary cars, as well as local, rapid, and special rapid train lines from Shin-Osaka Station to Kobe (or vice-versa) 2) Your ticket will come with a coupon for reserved seating on the Haruka, which you can use at a ticketing machine or at a Midori no Madoguchi ticket office. If you do not redeem this coupon, or if reserved seats are fully booked, free seating will automatically apply 3) Simply insert your ticket into the slot of an automated ticket gate to pass through 4) Please note that the Haruka does not go directly to Kobe.
