Explore the Emerald Cave and Black Canyon on the Colorado River — a kayaker’s dream destination. On this beginner-friendly kayaking tour, your guide provides a quick kayaking lesson to get you ready, and then you’ll be on your way up the river in no time. Paddling to the Emerald Cave, we will take a break along the way to explore the breathtaking views of the entire canyon. Have your camera at the ready for desert bighorn sheep, blue herons, and bald eagles. In the warmer months, you can even take a swim in the mystical green waters of the Colorado River. The Emerald Cave is a fascinating natural phenomenon on the Arizona side of the river that forms the border with Nevada. In the Black Canyon stretch of the river is the Emerald Cove, where the canyon walls tower 5,000–7,000 feet tall. The incredible colored waters of the aptly-named cove sparkle with sunlight reflected from the green floor of the cove. Within the grotto-like Emerald Cave, this effect is doubly enchanting!
