Universal Studios Japan has 10 themed zones, all of which feature exciting and entertaining attractions. Here's an idea of what to expect at each zone: 1. Super Nintendo World™ Let's-a-go to Super Nintendo World™, where the world of Mario and friends comes to life! Newly opened in 2021, Super Nintendo World™ is the world's first Mario-themed area (note: based on research by USJ LLC into themed establishments based on Nintendo characters and worlds). Here, meet Mario, Princess Peach, and other friends, and experience the interactive, adrenaline-pumping Mario Kart: Koopa's Challenge™ attraction, which received a Thea Award —considered an enormous honor around the globe in the themed entertainment industry. Note that guests will need a timed-entry ticket to enter Super Nintendo World™. You can book this for free on the day of your visit using the official Universal Studios Japan app — select the "Area Timed Entry Ticket." Additionally, some ticket bundles include an advance booking for an Area Timed Entry Ticket. (However, depending on crowd conditions, there may be instances when you can enter without this ticket.) Attractions include: • Mario Kart: Koopa's Challenge™ • Yoshi's Adventure 2. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ Enter the wizarding world of Harry Potter, where a grand adventure awaits! Pick and buy your own magic wand at Ollivanders, visit Hagrid’s Hut, and sample some creamy Butterbeer. Drooling already? It only gets better! Don't forget to drop by Honeydukes for its infamous Every Flavour Beans, where you can sample vomit and earwax-flavored jelly beans (yum?). The highlight of this zone is Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey™ at Hogwarts Castle. This ride takes you on an immersive 4D journey where you'll fly within and around Hogwarts on a broomstick, playing Quidditch and fighting dragons alongside Harry Potter and his friends! Attractions include: • Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey™ in 4K3D • Hogwarts Castle Walk • Flight of the Hippogriff • The Three Broomsticks • Ollivanders • Zonko’s Joke Shop • Filch's Emporium of Confiscated Goods 3. Here, you'll find The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man — a mind-bending dark ride that will take you to a whole new level of excitement. Having earned the Golden Ticket Award for Best Dark Ride for 12 consecutive years (1999 to 2010), this is where you may find it hard to draw a line between reality and imagination. Attractions include: • The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man: The Ride 4K3D • Terminator 2:3-D® 6. San Francisco Jesse Fuller brought the blues to the Golden Gate City with his song San Francisco Bay Blues, but he likely never expected that years later, another version of his beautiful city would exist thousands of miles away, faithfully recreated. Nearly as stunning as the real thing, the replica Fisherman’s Wharf and Ghirardelli Square in this zone will make you feel as if you're actually in San Francisco! This area also houses Backdraft, a ride based on the firefighting thriller film of the same name. With walls of flames, pillars of fire, and exploding oil drums, you’ll be grabbing whatever you can get your hands on, unnerved but too excited to let go! Attractions include: • Backdraft 7. Jurassic Park Step back in time to when dinosaurs roamed the earth at this zone named after the iconic Jurassic Park franchise. On The Flying Dinosaur, you're a hapless victim trapped in the talons of an out-of-control Pteranodon. Zip through the skies in an exciting 360-degree experience with stunning views of this area! After your adventure in the skies, take on a 26-meter drop in a boat next to escape a raging T-Rex at Jurassic Park: The Ride. Finally, end your adventure in the subtropical jungles of Dinosaur Panic and come face-to-face with these ancient creatures in an experience unlike any other!
