Starting at 08:00, this one-day guided tour will whisk you off to many of Taipei's top landmarks, both historical and modern. Your first stop is Taipei's historic Grand Hotel, where your guide will help you snap a group photo against the majestic, palace-like building. Then, you'll head to the National Palace Museum, one of the world’s largest museums with a collection of nearly 700,000 pieces of ancient Chinese artifacts and artworks, showcasing 8,000 years of Chinese art history spanning multiple dynasties. Next, you'll visit Dadaocheng, a fascinating neighborhood where tradition meets modernity. As its heart is one of Taipei's oldest streets, Dihua Street. Atmospheric and with plenty to explore, Dihua Street is lined with traditional shops selling dried goods and herbal medicine, alongside chic cafés and mini art galleries housed in well-preserved historical buildings. After Dadaocheng, the historical theme of your tour continues, taking you to the Taipei City Wall-North Gate (Cheng'en Gate). The grand, imposing fortress was built in the Qing Dynasty, and is one of Taipei's five historic city gates. Your walk through history then takes a pause, as your next stop is the famous Ximending Commercial District, one of the busiest walking streets in Taipei. Here, you can browse its many retail shops, enjoy delicious local eats, or watch street performances. After having lunch in Ximending, you'll head to Lungshan Temple next to experience some of Taiwan’s religious practices. At the temple, which houses statues of Buddhist, Taoist, and Confucian deities, you can pray for yourself and your family, and even try asking the gods for advice by tossing divination blocks. Next, you'll proceed to Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, an impressive monument built in memory of the former President Chiang Kai-shek. Here, you can observe the changing of the guard ceremony, a major attraction for the memorial which takes place every hour in front of Chiang Kai-shek’s statue. Your last stop on this tour is the Taipei 101 Mall. The skyscraper next to it is one of the world's tallest buildings, and offers a panoramic view of Taipei City from its observation floor. At the end of the tour, you can choose to disembark at MRT Zhongxiao Xinsheng Station or Raohe Street Tourist Night Market.
