When an infant travels alone. # Conditions for Use: 1. Valid only for the person whose name appears on the pass – must be a foreign national¹ visiting Japan with the entry status of Temporary Visitor and the corresponding stamp in their passport². 2. Present your pass to the attendant at a manned ticket gate to start the pass usage for that day. The attendant will apply a stamp in the space reserved for official use. When passing through a ticket gate, always present your pass to the attendant so that the validity period is visible. 3. You must carry your passport at all times while using the pass and be prepared to present it to conductors or station attendants if requested. 4. Valid for ordinary car reserved seats and non-reserved seats on all limited-express trains including the Shinkansen (except the Tokaido Shinkansen), express trains and local trains (including rapid trains) on JR Hokkaido lines, and JR East Lines including the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system; the Izu Kyuko Line; the Tokyo Monorail; the Aomori Railway; the Iwate Galaxy Railway and the Sendai Airport Transit, within the coverage area. - The pass can also be used on local trains on limited express lines served by both JR East and Tobu Railway (Nikko, Kinugawa, SPACIA Kinugawa, etc.) and on local trains between Shimo-imaichi and Tobu-nikko/Kinugawa-onsen on Tobu Railway lines. - Not valid for any buses except the BRT. - Not valid for use between Goryokaku Sta. and Kikonai Sta. on the South Hokkaido Railway line. - Not valid for the Tokaido Shinkansen, which is operated by JR Central. - When traveling on lines served by a company other than those mentioned above, a fare is required for the area served by that company. 5. The pass itself doesn't ensure specific seating options – to obtain a reserved-seat ticket at no additional cost, present your pass at the ticket office of a JR station. Certain trains require a reserved-seat ticket. Additional fares apply to travel in GranClass or Green Cars, private compartments on Shinkansen or limited express trains, sleeper cars, and DX Green Cars if available in the coverage area of the pass. An extra charge must be paid in advance to ride local trains requiring a numbered ticket or liner ticket. Japan Rail does not allow changing to reserved seating or sleeping car after boarding. 7. The pass can only be used within its validity period, which cannot be changed. 8. The pass cannot be exchanged for other kinds of pass or ticket. 9. The pass cannot be reissued in the event of loss or theft. 10. Exchange Orders can only be refunded by the travel agency from which you purchase them, and any application for refund must be made before the start of the pass validity period. Any refund will be for the value of the pass in yen, less a 10% handling fee³. 11. Once you have started using the pass the validity period cannot be extended, nor can any refund be given, even if trains or other transportation services are suspended or delayed for any reason. The JR Group will not bear additional costs due to changes in your route, such as alternative transportation or accommodation charges. 12. In addition to these conditions, you must obey the JR Group's regulations, terms and conditions, and the laws of Japan while using the pass. 13. Violation of these conditions may result in the invalidation and confiscation of the pass, as well as a penalty equal to twice the basic fares and charges for all transportation for which the pass was used. 14. The official terms and conditions of the pass are written in Japanese, and the text of the Japanese version shall be given priority of interpretation, in the event of questions regarding transportation conditions that may arise regarding conditions that are written in other languages. ¹Japanese nationals who have lived overseas for ten years or more may use the pass under certain conditions.
