Have just one day to visit Yosemite National Park? Then this one-day tour is for you! On this trip your day begins at 06:55 in San Francisco, from where you'll first board an Amtrak Thruway bus pickup, located a 20-minute walk from Union Square. The bus takes you across Oakland Bay Bridge reaching the train station by 07:20. Board the train at 07:40, then sit back and relax on a pleasant ride through the Delta area, as scenic vineyards and orchards speed by you. The train is equipped with spacious seats, restrooms, and a Cafe Car stocked with refreshments. Your driver-guide will pick you up in a private car at a train station taking you via Big Oak Flat Road (Highway 120) past Tuolumne Grove of Giant Sequoias. From the north side you see Yosemite Valley. At junction of the south side, by Bridal Veil Fall you head towards Wawona Tunnel. At Tunnel View, you see the entire valley including El Capitan, Bridalveil Fall and Half Dome rising from the Valley. The trip continues along the Merced River taking you past more picturesque views of Cathedral Rocks, El Capitan, Yosemite Falls, Sentinel Rock, and Half Dome. After stopping at Yosemite Visitor Center for lunch see the ancient Indian Village of the native Ahwahneechee, then take a 15-minute walk to Yosemite Falls. The car can also take you to The Ahwahnee Hotel, Curry Village, and Mirror Lake. At around 16:30, you'll leave Yosemite Valley by bus driving through Mariposa to Merced. Board 19:20 train to East Bay train station, arriving at 22:10. From here, you'll transfer to San Francisco by bus, arriving at around 22:40. Please note: Transport from and to your hotel or location is best done by taxi or Uber type service. Ask your host hotel for the best way.
