For amazing savings on your Southern Japan adventures, book your Southern Kyushu JR Pass, giving unlimited travel including the Kyushu Shinkansen for a fixed price! This JR Pass offers incredible value for anyone wanting to travel to such destinations as Kumamoto, Kagoshima, and Miyazaki in a short a span of time. For example, the cost of a 3-Day Pass is almost the same price as a single journey between Kumamoto and Kagoshima, so there is immense potential for savings if you plan to travel more of Kyushu's south during your stay. Using the JR Pass simplifies and streamlines the initially daunting task of understanding the country’s extensive transportation network for overseas visitors. What could have been a logistical headache will be a breeze, and it’s easy on your wallet to boot! The Shinkansen (also known as the Bullet Train) is more than a mere means of transportation, but can considered an attraction unto itself. You’ll get to travel on cutting edge technology across a spectacular landscape that seems to have remained unspoilt since time immemorial. Southern Kyushu is an area of Japan that does not receive a large amount of foreign visitors, so this is your opportunity to experience an authentic slice of Japanese life far from the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and Osaka. The JR Pass provides you with superb value for money, and is best utilized by travelers who intend to visit multiple locations in a short timespan. If you intend to primarily remain in one city (eg. Kagoshima) for the duration of your time in Southern Kyushu, it is likely not the best option for you. But if your itinerary involves extensive travel to multiple cities then you will absolutely benefit from huge savings. Two children up to the age of 5 may travel free of charge when accompanied by an adult JR Pass holder, assuming they do not occupy a seat, though a third child and children over the age of 5 will require a children’s rail pass.
