• Note that passes on this page can only be booked by Singapore residents • Please note that there is no exchange office in Kanto and Tokyo Area • Be aware that luggage space is sometimes limited on busy trains. • On some busy journeys (free) seat reservations may be required, but they are not usually needed. Consider reserving seats if traveling during national holidays, or with a large group to be seated together. Green Car seats and certain special trains such as Narita Express always require a seat reservation. • A few Shinkansen trains have smoking carriages, and some seating may be near to separate smoking rooms. For a guaranteed a smoke-free ride, a seat reservation is recommended. • Tickets for Young Children: Infants (ages 1–5) and babies (younger) travel for free on JR trains except in the following cases, when a child ticket is required: 1. When three or more infants accompany one adult or child (tickets are required for each infant after the second). 2. When an infant or baby occupies a reserved seat, Green Car seat or berth, etc. 3. When an infant travels alone. # Conditions for Use: 1. Valid only for the person whose name appears on the pass – must be a foreign national¹ visiting Japan with the entry status of Temporary Visitor and the corresponding stamp in their passport². 2. When passing through a ticket gate, you must always present your pass to the attendant so that the validity period is visible. 3. You must carry your passport at all times while using the pass and be prepared to present it to conductors or station attendants if requested. 4. Valid for use on: reserved and non-reserved seats on all JR Hokkaido trains except the Hokkaido Shinkansen; JR Hokkaido buses within Sapporo, and between Sapporo and Otaru. - Not valid for use on South Hokkaido Railway, Sapporo Municipal Subway, or any other train companies than JR Hokkaido. - Not valid for use on any Twinkle Bus, Chuo Bus, or buses between Sapporo-Asahikawa, Monbetsu, Hiro'o, Kiroro, Obihiro, Erimo, Shin Sapporo-Atsubetsu Stadium, JR Shiroishi Station-Sapporo Dome 5. The pass itself doesn't ensure specific seating options – to obtain a reserved-seat ticket at no additional cost, present your pass at the ticket office of a JR station. Certain trains may require a reserved-seat ticket. Additional fares apply to travel in Green Cars, private compartments on limited express trains, sleeper cars, and carpet cars. Japan Rail does not allow changing to reserved seating or sleeping car after boarding. 7. The pass can only be used within its validity period, which cannot be changed after exchange. 8. The pass cannot be exchanged for other kinds of pass or ticket. 9. The pass cannot be reissued in the event of loss or theft. 10. Exchange Orders can only be refunded by the travel agency from which you purchase them, and any application for refund must be made before the start of the Hokkaido Rail Pass validity period. Any refund will be for the value of the pass in yen, less a 10% handling fee³. 11. Once you have started using the pass the validity period cannot be extended, nor can any refund be given, even if trains or other transportation services are suspended or delayed for any reason. The JR Group will not bear additional costs due to changes in your route, such as alternative transportation or accommodation charges. 12. In addition to these conditions, you must obey the JR Group's regulations, terms and conditions, and the laws of Japan while using the pass. 13. Violation of these conditions may result in the invalidation and confiscation of the pass, as well as a penalty equal to twice the basic fares and charges for all transportation for which the pass was used. 14. The official terms and conditions of the pass are written in Japanese, and the text of the Japanese version shall be given priority of interpretation, in the event of questions regarding transportation conditions that may arise regarding conditions that are written in other languages. ¹Japanese nationals who have lived overseas for ten years or more may use the pass under certain conditions. # How to Receive Your JR Hokkaido Pass Just follow these simple steps: 1. Choose the date you want to redeem the JR Pass. Please provide the required information on the Checkout page. 2. On the Cart page, choose Worldwide Shipping. In light of recent events, shipping to China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Korea has been taking longer than usual. 3. Receive your voucher. It will be printed within 24 hours of placing your order and delivered shortly. If your selected date is more than 90 days in the future, we will wait until 1 month before your selected date before printing and shipping the voucher 4. Take your voucher to any of the designated counters listed below.
