Hop aboard the Randen for a leisurely and scenic journey through quiet local neighborhoods with an old-school feel, as well as some of Kyoto's beloved attractions such as Arashiyama and Toei Kyoto Studio Park! In service since 1910, the Keifuku Electric Railroad, fondly nicknamed Randen, is beloved by locals and a reminder of Kyoto's old-school days. With two lines, Arashiyama and Kitano, this tramway's routes make for a scenic, nostalgia-filled journey. In spring, the tram passes through tunnels of cherry blossom trees — a sight to behold. This tram is a great way to get from central Kyoto to Arashiyama. From Shijo-Omiya Station in the city center, a ride to Arashiyama takes only about 22 minutes. With your one-day pass, hop on and hop off anytime to do some sightseeing before you reach Arashiyama. For instance, stop at Uzumasa-Koryuji Station for some fun at Toei Kyoto Studio Park (also known as "Tōei Uzumasa Eigamura"), a theme park where you can walk through a recreation of an ancient Japanese village, enjoy traditional cultural attractions such as ninja shows, and see exhibits dedicated to Toei's film and TV franchises. We offer a bundle that includes a ticket to this theme park along with the Randen one-day pass. After your detour, board the Randen once more to head to Arashiyama. Known for its bamboo grove, monkey park, Togetsukyo Bridge, and stunning landscapes in spring and autumn, Arashiyama and Sagano are also some of Kyoto's most popular sightseeing districts. Book our bundles that include bike rental to cycle around Arashiyama for two hours — one bundle includes the Arashiyama Gourmet Coupon, which allows you to sample three snacks or sweets from your choice of eight participating shops. Or, take the Randen tram's Kitano Line for a visit to Ryoanji Temple. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to an iconic Zen rock garden, and is also a short walk to Kinkakuji (Golden Pavilion), another famous Kyoto attraction. Book now for a day's worth of sightseeing and culture in Kyoto!
