Description

Explore Malta's Three Cities — the harborside towns of Vittoriosa, Cospicua, and Senglea — on this tour! With a long cultural and historical heritage that can be traced back to Phoenician times, these cities are considered the cradle of Maltese history. In ancient times, these towns were a fortress for the people, as well as a source of livelihood and maritime fortunes. In 1530, the Knights of St. John — which ruled Malta from the 16th to 19th centuries — first settled here. The first stop on this tour is Vittoriosa, which you'll reach after driving past Cospicua. Here, you'll stop for a walking tour, passing narrow streets and well-preserved historic buildings — including the first auberge inns for the Knights of St. John. At the Vittoriosa waterfront, you'll board a traditional harbor boat called a 'dghajsa' for a tour of the bustling harbor and its creeks. Then, from the Senglea Garden at the tip of the Maltese peninsula, enjoy a stunning 360-degree view of the Grand Harbour. Don't miss the impressive Fort Sant Angelo, from where Grand Master La Valette led the defense of the island during the Great Siege of 1565. Book now for an engaging look into Maltese history!
