Description

First, we visit Meiji Jingu Shrine. The Meiji Jingu Shrine is the most important and popular Shinto shrine in Tokyo. The shrine was built in dedication to Emperor Meiji and his wife Empress Shōken in 1920. The shrine is located in a forest that covers an area of 700,000 m2, and the grounds of the shrine was planted with over 100,000 trees of 365 different species. You’ll probably be able to feel the solemn atmosphere in a forest while you make your way to the main shrine. After we pray at the shrine, we will leave the shrine precincts and go to The Imperial Hotel where you can enjoy an authentic tea ceremony and learn the manners of performing a Japanese tea ceremony. In a tea room built in the style of prescribed sukiya-style, you can enjoy Matcha which is made by a tea master according to traditional manners. Sukiya-style is one type of Japanese residential architectural style which refers to enjoyment of the exquisitely performed tea ceremony.
